Kayak molds can be made either by casted aluminium or aluminium blocks.Casted aluminium mold is much cheaper than CNC aluminium blocks.All of our kayaks are CNC made with casted aluminium.Black Spring touring kayak mold surfaces are glossy and shiny.We use matte surface kayaks too.
Single layer Solid LDPE shell, which is widely applied to most short boats 2 layers LDPE shell with 1 inner layer of PE foam, better rigidity and lighter weight than solid LDPE. 3 layers 2 layers of LDPE with 1 layer of PE foam in the middle, the 3rd layer of solid LDPE makes inner side smooth.

LDPE or HDPE? Black Spring is in current stage rotomolding kayaks with LDPE. However, we're testing multiple HDPE sources and will bring in overseas HDPE when it's time, for excellent rigidity and for higher impact performance.
